Job Overview

Provide professional engineering support to Central Commercial Mining Team and OUs whilst initiating/supporting group engineering efficiency, safety & optimization initiatives to bring more value to the customers and provide specific support for other Technical Central Team members as required.

Key accountabilities

• Support Vivo OUs for design, preparation of investment budgets and proposals. Seek guidance for other Central teams as required (S&D, HSSE). Cost effectiveness is key to ensure financial competitiveness during mining tender processes.
• Ensure that the design is aligned with fit-for-purpose standards and practices.
• Support construction of mining infrastructures on customers’ site including site presence
• Continuously seek for innovative and cost-efficient solutions to meet customers’ requirements
• Support implementation of assets integrity programs on mine sites (TIP, PIP & Electrical inspections)
• Support countries mining capex execution / Monitor progress
• Other: This position is an HSSE critical position. The incumbent shall do all related trainings and accreditations.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Electromechanical/Civil engineering with demonstrated IT Skills
• Proven engineering knowledge of Fuel/Lubes depot
• Ability to communicate clearly in French & English ( written & verbal)
• Good interpersonal skills
• Sound HSSE knowledge / experience
• Skilled in AutoCAD software utilization

• Maintain appropriate relationships with key stakeholders whilst still being able to constructively challenge including building a strong and open communication with suppliers/ contractors.

• Customer Focus: Represent the customer case; understand the mining customers’ business and deliver consistent and effective support.
• Balancing technical requirements with pressure from Commercial team

• Competence in problem solving, good decision-making skills and ability to find solutions to day-to-day issues
• Demonstrates interpersonal sensitivity and communication (written and verbal) skills
• To be flexible in terms of working hours and people management.
• Intensive travels if needed.
• Possible heavy workload when many projects are to be done at the same time

The location of this position is flexible; can be based in either Burkina Faso, Namibia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Guinea, Mali or Senegal.
